What is Posting?
Posting is used to officially and permanently record inventory transactions into the system. Based on standard Posting is the process of recording stock or inventory transactions into the system’s official accounts. It ensures that every movement of inventory — such as purchases, sales, transfers, or adjustments — is reflected in both inventory records and financial accounts.
In simpler words, posting is what makes a transaction “official” in the ERP system, so it affects reports, stock levels, and accounting.
Main Chapters in Posting Module
1.Opening Stock Post
This functionality is used to permanently record the initial inventory levels that were entered into the system. Once posted, these quantities become the official starting balance for your accounting and tracking period.
2.Transfer Out Post
This is the final step in the workflow for officially moving stock out of your current location to another branch or warehouse. Posting this transaction ensures that the stock count is permanently reduced in your local ledger and recorded as being in transit or received elsewhere.
3.Req-Transfer Out Post
This specifically handles the finalization of transfers that were initiated by a formal request. It moves a pending "Transfer Out Request" into a completed and officially recorded state.
4.Request Transfer in Post
This functionality is used to formally acknowledge and record the receipt of stock that was requested from another location. Posting this transaction officially increases the inventory levels in your system for those specific items.
5.Stock Adjustment Post
This is used to permanently apply manual corrections made to inventory levels, such as those following a physical stocktake. Posting ensures that these adjustments are officially recognized in all financial and inventory reports, reconciling the digital records with physical reality.
